The Cliff Pavilion hosted some legendary band including the Damned, Elvis Costello, The Jam, and Oasis . It still does put on the occasional Rock band today and is now the largest music venue in Southend on Sea .
The Kursaal a Rock venue and much of the land was developed as housing. The entrance hall, a listed building, is now a bowling alley arcade and casino. Southend links are listed. Played by Dr Feelgood and Thin Lizzy.

Patrol and The Arctic Monkeys.

Queens Hotel, 
The Queens now sadly lost was a much loved venue where bands as diverse as Dr and The Medic and Fruupp played.
Pink Toothbrush had many famous band play there including local band Depeche Mode.
